Weekday Field Trip
Wednesday, February 3rd, 8:45 a.m.
Colorado Lagoon/Dunster Marine Reserve
Gull Month has finally arrived! We will start with our trip to the Colorado Lagoon on Wednesday, February 3rd. We will also visit Dunster Marine Reserve since we’re just down the street and want to check out the “hidden gem” so eloquently described by Member-at-Large Steve Liivoja in the January Newsletter. If you missed his article, you car read it on our website, www.eldoradoaudubon.org. Also, if you haven’t gotten your “Gulls Simplified” handout yet, I will have some with me.
Meet in the south end of the El Dorado branch Library parking lot at 8:45 a.m. (on Studebaker Rd., just south of Spring St.., Long Beach) to carpool or else in the parking lot the Wetlands Marine Science Education Center parking lot, located on the south side of Appian Way/Colorado Blvd. (Thomas Guide page 796, B-7) at 9:00 a.m. There is free parking on the street or meters in the parking lot. Remember to bring binoculars, a hat, field guides, water & snacks. We will then go check out Dunster Marine Reserve. Check out the Friends of the Colorado Lagoon (FOCL) website at www.coloradolagoon.org for more information or call me, Carolyn Vance at 562-594-7589. Heavy rain cancels.
